Situation Analysis
The customer needed a final error-proofing system to verify that the correct color RPA sensors were installed. The sensors were manually installed, and this system used a color vision system to measure the RGB (red, green, blue) rating of the installed sensors, and then matched it with the fascia color that they were installed into. The system analyzed each sensor via a color DVT camera. Multiple stationary cameras were used on this project to reach the "check-rate" required.
Technical Details
The system analyzed each RPA sensor via a color DVT camera. Multiple stationary cameras were used on this project to reach the ‘check-rate’ required. An enclosure was built around the ‘color-check’ area to eliminate any external light, and high frequency tubes were used to light the check area to produce a consistent result. Once the image of the RPA sensor had been taken, it was analyzed to make sure it was within the required tolerance. If an incorrect sensor was installed, an audible alarm sounded, and visual notifications via light stacks informed the operator of an error during production.
